Turn with me in your Bibles to Acts chapter 27. Today as we continue our sermon series through the book of Acts, we have approached the final stages, the final lengths of our journey through this book. And in order to do due diligence to the text before us, we have a lengthy scripture reading today,

something like 50 or 60 verses before us. And so because I'm going to read that much text, I just want to maybe give you some framing on the front end about what you should be looking for and what you should expect. The first thing is to say that the Bible was written to us with good authorial intent.

And sometimes in Protestant churches, we don't do a good job of simply reading the word and hearing it. And we try here in Rua to do our best to read the whole text together and to consider it all before us. And so tonight will at least in part be a discipline in that effort,
